What is SAFARI?

The Miriam Project has experienced the joys of working with adoptive families for over a decade, and throughout that time, we’ve received a common question over and over again: “What now?”

Once the paperwork is filed, the home study visits are complete, and the preparations of both heart and home have been made, many families yearn to play an active role in seeking their child. For this reason, the Miriam Project is proud to unveil the SAFARI program, which consists of four separate packages choices for purchase on an annual basis. We know that some families are more willing to be open about their adoptive goals than others—these packages are designed to meet both the comfort levels and the budgets of our adoptive families. What is included in the SAFARI program?

Depending on the package that you choose, you will receive a variety of materials designed to help you share your adoptive goals with family, friends, or possibly even complete strangers. If you’re more restrictive about your intentions, your package may simply include a family profile on the Miriam Project’s website; if you want to tell the world that you’re adopting, your package could feature newspaper ads, prayer cards, and even large magnets for your vehicles. Though Package A is required for all Miriam Project families intending to adopt, SAFARI is designed as an opt-in program so that each family can match its individual desires with the opportunities presented by our unique combination of personalized marketing techniques. Our four packages are:

  • Package A: “The Basics”
  • Package B: “Essentials”
  • Package C: “That Personal Touch”
  • Package D: “Advertising Galore”

How do I join?

Beginning March 1, 2011, the Miriam Project will begin taking “reservations” for the SAFARI program. If your family has a current home study with or approved by the Miriam Project, you automatically receive Package A, which consists of ongoing marketing and public relations activities carried out by the Miriam Project, at no cost. If you wish to purchase Package B, C, or D, contact us by phone or e-mail and we will be glad to assist you!

What if we decide we want a different package next year?

No problem! Each package is purchased on a one-year term, so you are welcome to move up to a higher-priced package or move down to a lower-priced package should you remain in the SAFARI program for more than 12 months.
